As part of its commitment to sustainable development and the strengthening of the forest sector, this Thursday, August 21, Paracel carried out the first signing of the contract for the Ñañoty Forest Development Program, an initiative aimed at the development of small producers and small rural producers.

The event was attended by Cristina Goralesky, president of the National Forestry Institute (INFONA) representing the sector. In addition to the participation of Paracel representatives; Flavio Deganutti, CEO; Fabiano Stein, Forest Director; and Latifi Chelala, Director of Communication and Social Sustainability.

As part of this important milestone, the symbolic act of planting the first plot of the program took place, in the town of Horqueta, on the land of one of the beneficiary producers. This activity marks the beginning of a new phase in the promotion of responsible and income-generating forestry practices for rural communities.

The Ñañoty program aims to offer beneficiaries an alternative income, introducing them to the wood production chain, diversifying their economy and contributing to their socio-economic development. For this year, it is expected to reach a total of 30 hectares planted, in the communities of the Department of Concepción.

The execution of productive activities through the evaluation and issuance of the Generic Environmental Management Plan (PGAg) applied to this type of activity, is carried out taking into account legal criteria authorized by the Ministry of the Environment, following the MATES (Technical, Economic and Social Environmental Microplanning) guidelines for the design of interventions.

Within this framework, INFONA will provide specialized technical advice through its Concepción Regional Office, accompanying beneficiaries in the correct implementation of forestry practices.

With this great achievement, Paracel reaffirms its commitment to rural and forestry development in Paraguay, tracing together a new story towards a more sustainable future. In the words of the Forest Director: “Today we are not only planting trees, but we are also generating opportunities, income and sustainable development for rural families.”
