Paracel's Journey
It began with two independent companies located on different continents, but sharing the same vision:

The Zapag group, the Paraguayan leader in the import and distribution of fuel, saw an opportunity in the growth of cellulose products and decided to acquire land for afforestation. The choice of these lands was made considering factors such as degraded land, soil suitability and good conditions for biological growth, as well as logistics; and the possibility of employing thousands of people in the region.
Girindus Investments is a group of companies based in Sweden, with extensive experience in research and development of the cellulose production chain, from sustainable reforestation to production and sale.
In 2022, Heinzel Group joined Paracel, based in Vienna (Austria), a leader in the pulp and paper industry, with production centers in Austria, Germany and Estonia and a global sales network specialized in emerging markets.
In this way, the combination of the vision of the Zapag Group, Girindus and Heinzel Group resulted in the creation of Paracel, a company that aims to build a world-class pulp mill in the region of Concepción, Paraguay.
