Paracel’s Guapo’y is recognized as the largest tree in Paraguay

An imposing Guapo’y located at Paracel’s Villa Sana ranch in the Paso Barreto district of the Concepción department was recognized as the largest tree in Paraguay in the 2026 edition of Colosos de la Tierra, an initiative by A Todo Pulmón.

For Paracel, this recognition represents much more than the specimen's extraordinary dimensions—a trunk circumference of 12 meters, a height of 14 meters, and a canopy of 75.45 meters, selected from over 2,000 entries in the contest. It is a testament to the company's commitment to preserving natural heritage within a responsible forest management model that integrates production and conservation in the same landscape.

Currently, the company protects approximately 88,000 hectares of conservation areas, which are home to more than 1,200 species of flora and fauna. Furthermore, Paracel has a Net Biodiversity Gain strategy, which seeks to improve the state of biodiversity in its area of influence compared to what would have occurred in this landscape without the company's presence.

The company's participation was also highlighted through one of its employees, Carlos Salomón, who took first place in the Best Nature Photography category with an image captured on Paracel property, showing a tajy tree accompanied by a capybara and a bird amidst the forest plantations.

The photograph became a representation of the sustainable forest management model promoted by the company, demonstrating how forest production and biodiversity can coexist and thrive in harmony within the same territory.

These awards reaffirm Paracel's commitment to biodiversity conservation and to building a development model that combines responsible production, environmental protection, and value creation for communities.
