Paraguay and Finland strengthen cooperation in innovation and forest development

With the objective of strengthening bilateral cooperation and promoting new opportunities for innovation and joint development in the forestry sector, the Paraguay—Finland Meeting: Innovation and Opportunities in the Forest Sector was held in Asunción on March 10.

The event, held in the Event Hall of the Holiday Inn Asunción Hotel, brought together leading companies from both countries, national authorities and industry leaders, in a day aimed at the exchange of knowledge, the generation of strategic alliances and the exploration of opportunities within forest value chains.

The activity was organized by Paracel, in partnership with the Embassy of Finland, and was supported by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Paraguay, the National Forestry Institute (INFONA) and the Paraguayan Federation of Timbers (FEPAMA), reaffirming their joint commitment to sustainable development, technological innovation and international cooperation.

Sixteen companies representing Finland participated, as well as Paraguayan forestry companies, members of the FEPAMA board of directors and national authorities. During the meeting, key issues for the future of the sector were addressed, including: forest services, industry, logistics, infrastructure, environment, digitalization and energy.

Through this space, Paraguay and Finland consolidated strategic ties and made progress in identifying innovative solutions aimed at promoting sustainable and competitive growth of the forest sector in the region.
