On the International Day of Indigenous Women, Jacinta Pereira, the leader of the Redemption indigenous community of the Sanapaná people, from the city of Concepción, gave a message to the women of her area and spoke about her academic achievements.

Jacinta received her degree in Social Work from the National University of Concepción, and in addition to being a professional, she is in charge of her community meeting the needs.

“It's a very interesting challenge, a woman has to have the tenacity to face things in order to move forward. Demonstrate that women can, and even more so women who are older, cannot lose hope of continuing to study,” says Jacinta.

He also urged indigenous women and girls to train and continue to prepare for challenges.
