Today we celebrate a historic milestone for Paracel and the country! Our Paracel ARR Forest Carbon Project has been registered in the Verra Registry, and our first 191,809 carbon credits have been approved under the international Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Verra’s Climate, Community & Biodiversity (CCB) Standards, applying the VM0047 methodology—Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation—one of the most rigorous standards internationally.

This achievement reflects years of collaborative work and a commitment to a landscape-approach development model that integrates forest plantations with the conservation and restoration of native ecosystems, creating opportunities for people and generating sustainable value for future generations.

The VM0047 methodology applied by the project is approved by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) under the Core Carbon Principles (CCP), an international framework that establishes high-integrity requirements for carbon credits.

This progress is a milestone for the company, confirming that our forest management model generates measurable and verifiable CO₂ removals under the highest international standards.

In addition to strengthening Paracel’s sustainability strategy, this result reaffirms our commitment to creating shared value for people, communities, and the environment.

“More than just a technical validation, this achievement is international recognition of years of work and commitment to the highest standards. It demonstrates that it is possible to develop a responsible forest management model that generates environmental, social, and economic value, positioning Paracel and Paraguay as leaders in the global carbon market,” noted Flavio Deganutti, CEO of Paracel.

We thank everyone who made this significant achievement possible. It reflects our purpose to continue developing our operations by combining productivity, innovation, and sustainability, while driving the country’s sustainable growth.

About the Paracel ARR Forest Carbon Project

The Paracel ARR Forest Carbon Project (ID 3196) is a grouped project located in the northeastern region of Paraguay that combines afforestation, reforestation, and the restoration of native ecosystems to generate high-integrity Verified Carbon Units (VCUs), while promoting biodiversity and fostering social development.

In this first milestone, the Project Activity Instance 1 (PAI-1) was validated and verified, covering the Trementina and San Liberato ranches with an eligible area of 23,775 hectares. PAI-1 combines eucalyptus plantations for kraft pulp with the restoration of degraded Cerrado savannas.

By integrating productive forestry with conservation and social investment, Paracel offers a landscape-based model for sustainable development in Paraguay.
